Migrant crisis: Hungary to bus migrants to Austria border

Hungary is to send buses to transport migrants to Austria's border after more than 1,000 began walking there earlier on Friday.

They left Budapest station on foot after a stand-off with police, defying official efforts to take them to reception centres and register them.

Migrant children rescued from Austria minivan 'recovering'

Three children are recovering in hospital in Austria after being rescued from a minivan containing 26 migrants. Police said the severely dehydrated children would not have lasted much longer in the cramped vehicle.

The minivan was stopped in Braunau district on Friday and the Romanian driver was arrested after a chase. Separately, four men appeared in court in Hungary following the discovery last week of another truck in Austria containing the bodies of 71 people.

Asia migrant crisis: Malaysia exhumes mass graves

Malaysia has begun exhuming bodies suspected to be migrants buried in 139 grave sites close to the Thai border.
 
Authorities believe the migrants were held for ransom in jungle camps by gangs of human traffickers.
Thousands of migrants from Bangladesh and Myanmar have left for Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia in recent weeks.
